• Account & profile: name, email, password (hashed), and the professional details you add (headline, bio, company, role, skills, interests, experience).
• Authentication: if you sign in with Google or GitHub, we receive basic profile information from those providers.
• Usage & content: mentorships, messages, forum posts, articles, session notes, and similar content you create on the platform.
• Payments: if you subscribe to Pro, payment is processed by Stripe; we do not store your full card details.
• Technical: cookies and a session token used to keep you signed in, plus error and performance diagnostics.

• To provide and operate the platform and match mentors with mentees.
• To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
• To send transactional email (verification, password reset, notifications).
• To process Pro subscriptions and manage billing.
• To diagnose errors, prevent abuse, and improve the service.

We share data only as needed with providers that help us run Torchera: Vercel (hosting), Neon (database), Stripe (payments), Sentry (error monitoring), Upstash (rate limiting), our email provider, and AI providers used for optional matching. We do not sell your personal information.

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account from Settings; we remove or anonymize your personal data after deletion, except where we are required to retain it for legal or accounting purposes.

Passwords are hashed, traffic is encrypted in transit, and access to production data is limited. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. You can manage most of this in Settings, or contact us using the details below.

Torchera is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
